How to build a yoga class online for students

Introduction

Building an online yoga class is a great way to make money, meet new people and share your passion for the practice. If you’re curious about starting your own Yoga business, there are many different ways to do it and build a yoga class online.

Start with why

Before you begin, it’s important to ask yourself why you want to build an online yoga class. Do you want to help people feel better? Do the world a favor by reducing stress? Are there other benefits that come with teaching yoga?

  • Why do I want this?
  • How will this help me or my students?
  • What are my goals for the class (and can I achieve them)?

Set clear goals and define your target market

  • Set clear goals and define your target market.
  • Define the type of student you want to attract, and think about what their needs are.
  • If you’re going for a general audience or if there are any other groups of people who might be interested in taking your class, consider what those needs might be as well.
  • Set a timeline for achieving each goal (and stick with it!). For example: “I will have 100 students in my yoga class by September 1st.”

Identify your strengths and weaknesses

  • Identify your strengths and weaknesses. If you’re not sure where to start, ask a few of the people who know you best: family members, friends or even colleagues at work.
  • What are your strengths? What are some things that come easily to you? What do people regularly compliment or praise you for doing well?
  • What are some areas in which improvement could be made? Are there any skills that take more effort for others than they do for you (or vice versa)? Do certain tasks make more sense than others — and if so, why?

Make it easy for students to enroll and pay for your course

You’ve put together an amazing online yoga class and you’re ready to launch. Before you do, make sure that your website is mobile friendly and has a secure payment system in place.

Make it easy for students to enroll in your course by providing a clear pricing structure and payment policy on the landing page of your website. If possible, allow them to sign up with their PayPal account or credit card so they don’t have to enter any billing information when purchasing something from you (this will also save time).

Choose a platform that will help you sell your class.

When choosing a platform, it’s important to consider these factors:

  • Ease of use. You want something that is simple and intuitive for students. If they can’t find what they’re looking for or have trouble navigating the site, you’ll lose them as customers!
  • Affordability. While there are many free options out there (and we’ll talk about those in a minute), many teachers prefer paying for a more robust service that offers additional features such as customizable design elements and support from experts who know how to get your classes out into the world effectively.
  • Customization options: Some platforms allow teachers more freedom over how their classes appear onscreen than others do–this can include everything from fonts used throughout the website all the way down through what colors appear on individual pages within each course section (such as “About Me” pages).

Create content that’s relevant to your target audience.

Create content that’s relevant to your target audience.

It’s important to make sure that the content you create is relevant and easy to understand. You want your students to feel like they’re learning something new, not struggling with a bunch of confusing words or concepts. The goal of this step is not only for them to understand what they’re learning but also enjoy the process of doing so!

  • Create engaging visuals: Use images and videos whenever possible–they help break up text-heavy pages by providing visual breaks in between paragraphs (and prevent eye fatigue).
  • Include interactive elements: Don’t just write out instructions; instead, give them an opportunity for hands-on involvement by including activities within each lesson plan that lets students apply what they’ve learned from previous lessons before moving on further into their coursework later on down the line.”

Post frequently, but don’t spam.

Post frequently, but don’t spam.

Post at least once a day, and more often if you can. Your followers will appreciate the consistency of your posts and it will help them feel like they’re part of your online community. Set up a schedule that works for you so that you don’t get overwhelmed with posting on social media all at once (and then not again for days). The best thing is to post at the same time every day, so that people know when they can expect new content from one of their favorite yoga teachers!

Post relevant content related to your target audience’s interests and needs–and use hashtags (#) when appropriate so that others can discover what’s being shared by people who post similar things across multiple platforms such as Instagram and Twitter

Welcome guests and answer questions through social media and email.

As a teacher, you know that setting up an online yoga class is just the beginning of your work. Once students have signed up for your class, you’ll want to make sure they are able to get in touch with you if they have any questions or concerns. Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter can be great ways for teachers to reach out directly with their students on a regular basis (and not just during class time). You may also want to use email as another way of communicating with prospective students before they sign up for classes–this will help them feel more comfortable knowing who they’re working with before committing money into buying tuition packages from different teachers over time.
