Start with the style, not the person

Teachers are trained in specific styles, and the style shapes the whole experience. Want to move and sweat? Look for vinyasa, power or ashtanga teachers. Want to slow down? Yin, restorative and gentle hatha teachers are your people. Working with an injury or pregnancy? Look for teachers who list prenatal, therapeutic or accessible yoga explicitly — not as an afterthought.
