Assumption of risk & release of liability

Last updated 8 September 2026

This is a release of legal rights. Read it before you practise. By creating an account, booking, attending, streaming or otherwise participating in any activity offered through YogaConnect, you agree to this waiver on your own behalf and on behalf of your heirs and personal representatives.

1. I understand the risks

Yoga, movement, breathwork, meditation, sound healing and teacher training involve inherent risk that cannot be eliminated, including: muscle strains and tears; sprains; joint, tendon, ligament and disc injury; fractures; falls, particularly in balances and inversions; heat exhaustion and dehydration in heated practice; fainting, dizziness, hyperventilation and tetany in breathwork; hearing discomfort and strong emotional release in sound sessions; aggravation of existing conditions; contact with equipment, floors, props or other people; catastrophic injury, paralysis and death.

I also understand that risks arise from my own condition and choices, from other participants, from premises and equipment I do not control, and — for online sessions — from practising unsupervised in my own space, where no one can see me, correct me or help me if something goes wrong.

2. I am fit to participate

I confirm I am physically and mentally able to take part, that I have obtained any medical clearance I need, that I have read the medical disclaimer, and that I will disclose injuries, conditions and pregnancy to my teacher. I accept full responsibility for choosing what to do, for modifying or stopping, and for practising within my limits.

3. Voluntary assumption of risk

I participate voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks connected with participation, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, including risks arising from the ordinary negligence of the parties released below, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

4. Release and covenant not to sue

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive and discharge YogaConnect, its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and its AI instructor features (the "Released Parties") from all claims, demands, liabilities and causes of action for injury, illness, disability, death, or loss of or damage to property, arising out of or relating to my participation — including claims based on the Released Parties' ordinary negligence. I agree not to sue the Released Parties for any such claim.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, recklessness, or wilful or intentional misconduct, nor to any liability that cannot lawfully be released in your jurisdiction. It does not release independent studios, teachers or venues, who remain responsible for the services they deliver.

5. Photography, recording and live sessions

Live and recorded sessions may capture my name, image, voice and chat messages. I consent to that recording being stored and made available to the class, the Provider and, where the Provider chooses, to enrolled students. If I do not consent, I will not join, or will join with camera and microphone off.

6. Minors

If I am signing for a participant under 18, I am their parent or legal guardian, I have authority to bind them, and I accept every provision of this waiver on their behalf and my own, including the release and, to the extent permitted by law, the indemnity below.

7. Indemnity

I will indemnify the Released Parties against claims brought by or on behalf of me or a minor in my care arising from participation, except to the extent caused by the Released Parties' gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

8. Severability and acknowledgement

If any part of this waiver is held invalid, the remainder stays in full force, and the invalid part is limited to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. I have read this document, I understand it is a release of legal rights, and I agree to it freely.

Disputes about this waiver are handled under the arbitration agreement and class action waiver.

These terms are provided for general information and are not legal advice. Nothing here removes rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of the place you live.
